We are one big family, no mater what the species. All a part of Gods amazing creation, 

 Australians , surrounded by sea, we love our holidays by the ocean swimming  in the azure

 waters and enjoy the rejuvenating air that we breath. Here our friends pose for their famfamily  portrait, like a post card of yesteryear as in the 1920s to be sent to loved ones        at h at home to say, “wish you were here”. But theb plasic bag has crept in !

Will we look back and say “wish we were there? Wish it was still here! Wish they were still here.” Or will the sea be filled with plastic only ?

We are all one big family. As a family we are called to protect and nurture, we depend on the diversity of our oceans to give us clean air and healthy fish and seaweeds to eat and yet we allow it to be polluted daily with more and more plastic. Everything we consume seems to be wrapped in Plastic. Studies have found that we have plastic in our blood.

What can we do? Lobby politicians, sign petitions and change our habits and what and who we buy from. As consumers we can buy locally, without bags and plastics, eat natural foods and local caught fish.

Octopus: now listed as sentient beings that live solitary lives are threatened by the proposal of farms that will be overcrowded where their lives will be ended painfully in ice water. Waste production will pollute our oceans.

Jellyfish: the oldest multi organ animal. Many jellyfish populations are endangered but others are increasing around the world as predators are disappearing. Often plastic bags are 

mistaken as jellyfish by turtles who ingest plastic and die.

Cuttlefish : pulsate different colours and are highly intelligent.  Giant Cuttlefish are a threatened species and mate in the waters around Australia.                                       

Seahorse: many seahorses are endangered as they are collected for aquariums, decorations and Chinese medicine
